A bit about me
and how this got started
Artist, mother, homesteadHer, partner, and teacher.

I grew up on a farm, but it was always my father's passion, not mine.
The arts pulled at my heart early on and somewhere along the way I found bits and pieces of myself.
There was often overlap between my father and me. From raiding his scrap bin to tinkering together.
But it was always somehow still so separate in my mind.

My partner & I changed our lifestyle in 2015 (each lost 85+ pounds) and started considering our food source.
We attempted to start a garden in the first year and quickly realized this farmer's daughter did not know the first thing about growing her own food.
Since this shift in lifestyle and mindset I have worked to bridge the gap between my passion for art and my newfound love of everything nature.

Currently, I'm a full time junior high art teacher and adjunct art professor at IUK.
I am active in my community within the arts, active in my studio, and working to grow the homestead.
...
It's all now very much connected, in my mind.
The art making, the homestead, the fitness, the teaching.
My soul is set on fire when I am creating, connected, and growing.
